Explore the stunning Lysefjord on a guided sea kayaking excursion from Forsand in Norway. Welcoming adventurers from ages 14 and up!
Lysefjord is a famous fjord located in southwestern Norway, known for its dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, and idyllic villages. This trip begins in Forsand, a municipality in Rogaland County surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes.
The adventure begins at the starting point in Forsand, where you will meet the experienced guide. You can choose from a 3-hour or 4-hour tour. The guide will provide all of the necessary equipment, including a Boreal Design Esperanto double kayak, paddle, life vest, splash jacket and pants. You don’t need any prior kayaking experience to participate in this excursion. After a quick introduction and safety briefing, you and your group (a maximum of 12 participants) will set off from the beach, paddling across the crystal-clear waters!
Following the guide, you’ll explore Lysefjord, passing picturesque granite gorges, mountains and waterfalls. This trip allows you to experience a true Norwegian fjord! Keep an eye out for wildlife such as seals, porpoises, eagles, and seabirds while kayaking. The guide will point out any interesting flora or fauna you may spot. On the 4-hour tour, you’ll have a spectacular view of the famous Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) above you. This flat-topped cliff rises 604 metres (1,982 feet) above the fjord and offers breathtaking panoramic views. After admiring the pristine scenery, you’ll return to the starting point in Forsand.
