There is no better way to explore the Verdon gorges than by canoe-kayak! In 1905, Edouard-Alfred Martel and his team were the first to explore the Grand Canyon du Verdon by canoe, and now, you can too! The Verdon gorges is the oldest valley in Europe, containing multiple canyons, soaring cliff-faces, and the brilliant turquoise water of the Verdon river snaking through it. The location of Aquattitude canoe-kayak rental gives you access to the enchanting Baudinard Canyon. Located in the centre of the Natural Regional Park of Verdon and part of the lower Verdon gorges, Baudinard Canyon is home to two lakes: Lake Montpezat and the smaller Lake Artignosc that offers pretty beaches and tranquil waters! The canyon itself is bordered by sheer cliffs of 100 to 150 meters high, and the rock faces are pierced by multiple caves, some of which even have underground labyrinths, the most beautiful of which are the Baume de l'Eglise and the Baume aux Pastels.
At the Aquattitude nautical base situated in Montpezat, which also includes free parking, toilets and changing rooms, you will have the choice of renting a canoe-kayak for 3 hours or 6 hours, giving you plenty of time to enjoy your surroundings. The rental options also vary in size and include the option of a solo or two-seater kayak, as well as a 3 or 4-seater canoe (with children), making it a perfect activity shared among friends and family. You will be equipped with life vests, paddles, and a water-proof pack and briefed on the route by the guides at the base. The Aquattitude boats combine stability and comfort with glide; making them easy and safe to navigate no matter your level of experience. Once settled in your boat, you can relax under the sparkling Provincial sun as you navigate down the Verdon river and take in the magnificent views around you!
