Activity description

Enjoy a leisurely kayak tour in the lagoon of Sólheimjökull glacier. Experience the wonder and awe of kayaking among massive structures of ice. You will start of meeting your guide in the Sólheimjökull glacier parking lot. From there you will be fitted with a dry suit and learn how to maneuver yourself through the lagoon. Your guide will lead you through the magnificent ice field. Staring up a these ice giants will leave you feeling as if you've entered another world.

After a couple hours on the water, navigating the lagoon you will head back to shore with a lifetime of memories and the photos to match. Come join in the kayak trip of a lifetime.

Course of events

-Fitted for dry suit

-Learn basic techniques to maneuver kayak

-Hop on kayak and enjoy 1.5 hours in the iceberg filled lagoon

-Head back to shore

Our glacier walk was simply amazing! Hanna, our fantastic guide, provided crampons and an ice ax for the journey. The experience and scenery were truly breathtaking.

Climbing the glacier was fun and exciting. My only wish is that we could have moved a bit faster. Some in the group were slower than others, so as a group we went pretty slow. It might be wise to break groups down in to levels of ability.
