There’s no winery tour for us, but we supposed to have one. And only one person serving us during the tasting, he also helped other customers.

What a great time we had at Reif. Their pours of great wine were generous and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely do it again. Unfortunately we had a member of our party get called away so we only had nine people instead of the prepaid ten people. Reif said we would receive a refund which hasn't happened yet but I'm sure it will.

One of Niagara-on-the-Lake's founding family wineries, established in 1982 by The Reif Family and later fulfilled by Klaus W. Reif, Reif Winery produces wines from its 125-acre vineyard first planted in 1977. Located in the Niagara River sub-appellation, where sun-loving grape varieties thrive, the vineyard benefits from a long growing season refined by the presence of the river, which helps mitigate early spring and late fall frosts.

The vineyard is situated in Ontario's warmest sub-appellation, making it an ideal location for the production of rich, full-bodied wines. Additionally, it is home to some of the oldest vinifera plantings in Canada, which is advantageous for growers in cooler climates like Ontario as these mature vines ripen earlier. This unique aspect contributes to wines that truly reflect the 'terroir,' allowing the essence of the vineyard to be tasted and appreciated in every sip!
