Acatenango is a volcano in Guatemala. A neighbour of Volcán de Fuego just to the south and Volcán de Agua to the southeast, it is located southwest of Guatemala City.
The Acatenango volcano has not erupted since about 1925 and it's one of the highest volcanoes in Central America, with a peak of 3976m, is made up of two peaks: Yepocapa and Pico.

The volcano is well known for its treks and its incredible landscapes.There are precautions to take for this great hike, bring good hiking shoes, warm clothes, water, food tents, sleeping bags... Make sure you know what you're getting into before you go to this adventure !
