Bâlea Lake is a glacier lake situated at 2,034 m of altitude in the Făgăraș Mountains, in central Romania, in Cârțișoara, Sibiu County. There are two chalets opened all the year round, a meteorological station and a mountain rescue station.

- We drove to Romania just because we heard about this beautiful road: the Transfagarasan. It is known as one of the most beautiful routes in Europe. It’s true! We drove this road two times, and it took us 2 days each time. Each time there was a beautiful section, one of us stepped out of the car to take photos. The other one drove back and forth to ‘pose’. It was cold and it took a loonnngg time, but the shots are totally worth it!
