Alvaneu
Alvaneu is a former municipality in the district of Albula in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. On 1 January 2015 the former municipalities of Alvaschein, Mon, Stierva, Tiefencastel, Alvaneu, Brienz/Brinzauls and Surava merged to form the new municipality of Albula/Alvra.

About this picture
I passed by this chapel from a distance many times. After I had bad luck on another early morning sunrise trip because of bad weather, I thought why not giving this image a try. Aaaaand I think it was really worth it. The sun was actually perfect for shining right through the mini bell cage. It’s actually a tiny chapel, it only appears bigger on the picture. I definitely will visit this place again next year, earlier in autumn, when the colours are in full blast! I love the composition and the sun already in this picture however.
