The Sidelhorn is a mountain of the Bernese Alps, located west of the Grimsel Pass. It lies at the eastern end of the mountain chain between the Unteraar Glacier and the Rhone valley, named Aargrat.

About this picture
After an hour of hiking, we set up our cameras at 2500m. Although we had expected to see the moon rise right above the mountains, clouds on the horizon delayed when we had our first glimpse of the red light. This was my first lunar eclipse photography session and I am afraid I may have been too enthusiastic about the photography. Next time, I’ll try to focus more on the actual experience!

- After an hour of hiking past the Grimselpass/Totensee, we set up our cameras at 2500m. Although we had arrived to that spot to see the blood moon rise right above the mountains, clouds on the horizon delayed when we got our first glimpse of red light. Still, the clouds that were there allowed for a colorful sunset. The dramatic lighting of the sun lasted for mere seconds. It is a reminder that sometimes, beautiful things only last for a short while so we should try our best to enjoy them while they last. Enjoy!
