Wildlife in Nakusp, Canada

This young osprey had either been unsuccessful returning to the nest or injured itself on an early flight and was perched on a large boulder beside the highway in the Kootenays just south of Nakusp. It is puffed up to as large as it can get to intimidate me into leaving. Out of respect I only snapped a couple of images and scooted.

I took this photo for the #michaelschallenge. I actually took this photo of my model in an aisle of Michaels covered in fake fern plants. The goal of the Michaels Challenge is to use their fake plant selection to make it look like you aren’t in their store. I found this photo breathtaking. And was so pleased with its mood of a horror movie, or dramatic scene of hiding and seek. Therefore the name “Eye Run, but Eye Can’t hide”

Mountain river in Vermilion Crossing, Canada

Daybreak we woke up at a truck stop after crossing the border from Washington State into B.C. late the night before. As we got closer, the mist mountains grew taller and waters crystal blue. Our first taste of this trip was Vermilion Crossing in Kootenay National Park on our way to Banff.

Glacial lake in Yoho National Park, Canada

Our tour across the Rockies had taken us far across British Columbia and Alberta. On day three we set out in thick fog and pouring rain. The plan was to strike out for Lake Louise and Emerald Lake in the hope the sun might show up. Luck was on our side, we left the bad weather behind us and were treated to the stunning trademark views everyone has come to expect of Canada.

On a day trip out to Yoho National park to see Takkakaw Falls I drove across this bridge, and as I was approaching it I knew I'd have to get out and get a photo because of how awesome it is. I just feel like it really works with the mountain, it's got a great aesthetic to me.

Recreational fishing in Yoho National Park, Canada

We started hiking the Iceline trail with every intention of finishing it, but the weather had other plans. Rain, hails, snow - the further we hiked along the exposed and rugged trail, the more unpredictable the weather got. So we decided to turn back and cut off the trail to head to Yoho Lake instead. Taking cover under the massive pine trees, the rain slowly tapered off until it stopped all together leaving the lake with a glasslike surface that allowed not only for reflections of the trees and mountain, but all of our thoughts as well. “Model” - @dannykashh

The raging Yoho River in Yoho National Park, British Columbia. This river was incredibly loud, and it wasn't until halfway through my shooting that I realised if a bear was behind me... I would have had no idea haha!

This photo was taken on a moody day not far from Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park. The low-level clouds give this scene a nice, mysterious vibe.

We went out for a little hike in Canada, BC and found this beautiful spot. The snow on the ice was untouched, everything about this afternoon was unreal.

We had planned to do a hike at Lake Louise, but there were so many people around, that it made the hikes unappealing so we decided to do a less populated hike that day. At the end of our 5k trail, we came across one of the clearest lakes that I have ever seen. The subject on the point in the bottom right corner gives you a little perspective on how vast the landscape really is.

I have NEVER seen this blue in my life. It was the most surreal thing, like the colour of Gatorade, a thirst quencher which I was longing for after quite the hike to reach this point. All I could do was look up in awe and wonder at the mesmorizing panorama of mountains that surrounded us for miles.

Finally got up to a peak in Lake Moraine, and waited out the first flurry of the season. Sometimes all you need to do is look up. Break the habit of keeping your head down and low.

This is Mount Fay, one of the ten peaks surrounding the spectacular Lake Moraine in Banff, Alberta, Canada. This was my first time there and won’t be my last! Any Canadian old enough to remember $20 bills issued in the 60s/70s will recognize this mountain range, which was printed on the back of the bill. While most people take extremely wide angle shots at this location to capture the lake and all the peaks, I found this one peak interesting enough to narrow in on. I love all the little details in the rock and the ridges of snow.

This lake is closed once the parking lot is full. I got there a little after 6 am and got one of the last parking spots. After being there, I can see why so many people want to see it. It’s truly amazing. Lots of areas to explore around the lake.

This was taken the first morning we were in Canada, running on 3 hours sleep, exploring one of the most beautiful places in the world. My fiancée, Cat, is taking in the incredible view of Mount Temple from Moraine Lake's rocky trail.

When you go to Moraine Lake (or a few of the other popular lakes in Banff) you'll often see chipmunks scurrying around where you're standing/sitting. Be careful when you put your food down next to you, I saw a group steal someones chocolate bar at Lake Agnes haha!

A hidden beauty tucked away above and behind Moraine Lake. About an hour hike from Moraine Lake, we were so glad we found this lake. It was such a beautiful sight seeing the clouds finally break away so we could see the mountain in its entirety. A gorgeous view away from all the tourists down below at Moraine Lake.

Wapta Mountain as seen from the base of Takkakaw Falls in British Columbia, Canada. Takkakaw Falls has a height of 373 metres (1,224 ft), whcih makes it the second tallest waterfall in Canada. The river it feeds runs through Yoho national park and like the rest of the glacial waters, it carries the same incredibly turqouise-green colour.
