We surfed at the point break off of Lombok island in Indonesia. There is nothing to do at this break besides surf, eat, and sleep.

One of my favorite pictures from my travels to Indonesia. This break is hard to get to and in a remote village where surfers only come to when the swell is big.

Took this overview of the three Gili Islands (biggest Gili Air Island in front) with the DJI Mavic Pro. Stiched this panorama from over 40 images to get a high resolution finale photo.

Scuba divers about to descend for a dive on Gili Trawangan. Diving with Uber Scuba Gili. On a clear day you can see all the way to Mt Agung on Bali in the far distance, as in this photo.

Two excited scuba divers descending into the ocean slowly, equalising their ears as they have been taught. This is where the fun begins.

Surf is what got me into photography. A trip a couple of years back, to this right spot in Gerupuk, Lombok got me thinking. It got me thinking of how I could do this for a living. Travel the world and enjoy the free spirited surfer-lifestyle. Surf ripping waves and meet awesome people. It’s funny that I got this photo at this right spot. To this day it’s the surf photo that I’m most happy with of taken. And there are many more to come!

The clouds roll across the island covering all except the peaks that emerge. When they clear the ocean, the Gili Islands and Bali are all visible, but as fast as they come - they’re gone again.

After ascending the top of the Rinjani Vulcano on the island of Lombok, Indonesia I got sick. After two days of struggling my way down from the top I reached this point and finally took my camera again to make this shot. Before I didn’t have the will to take my cam out but this landscape had to be photographed in between throwing up and struggling my way down.

During one of our days off from scuba diving and snorkeling in Amed, Bali, we decided to see how far one of the steep local mountain roads could leads us onto Mount Lempuyang, in the eastern part of the island. We past several villages with chickens and dogs running freely as fog kept rolling in the tiger we went.

We came to Kelingking beach for the sunset but there’s this lovely spot for couples to take stupid photos and of course we fell prey.

Can anyone spot the cabin on the cliff? Hell of a place to build a house! This photo is taken from a small cliffside near Ramuh Pohon treehouse. Woke up at 4am to do the 1 hour drive across Nusa Penida to catch the sun rise. This is the view of Atuh Beach from above. We keep seeing photos of a naked cliff even though there are definitely guard rails. Not sure if it’s photoshop or it’s a slightly different cliffside a few dozen meters away. If there is such a spot, we missed it. If you go and find it, let us know!

Away from the hustle and bustle is Bali's exotic coast of Nusa Penida, where the waves crash wildly. Exploring this side of her is so breathtaking.

We woke up at 4am to drive for over an hour in the dark (we had a driver, so actually we just sat in the back falling asleep). The roads of Nusa Penida are very bumpy and we knocked our heads and bruised our bums a bit on the ride as we went clear across the island from the west coast to the east coast. Made it in time though.

The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach, waiting for a gift from the sea. Read Bali travelogue here: https://www.roadtripwithraj.com/on-the-road/2018/9/21/when-the-world-has-broken-me-down-bali-sets-me-free

It’s a marvelous thing, the ocean. For some reason when two people sit together looking out at it, they stop caring whether they talk or stay silent. You get rid tired of watching it. And no matter how rough the waves get, you’re never bothered by the noise the water makes by the commotion of the surface - it never seems too loud, or too wild. More of Bali Travelogue? A mother and young child with happy yet desperate eyes as they receive donations at a local shelter. This photo was taken two days after Mount Agung on Bali erupted forcing the airport to close and thousands of villagers to flee into makeshift shelter centres. Bali, Indonesia 29 November 2017.

When you show up to Nusa Penida during rainy season, the good thing is that there are fewer people. You might get wet a few times, but the cloudy weather gives a totally different feel to the island for some rare shots.

The climb down was truly worth it. When you travel solo and when you get the beach all to yourself, it is a wonderful feeling.
