Underwater in Minorca, Spain

I took this photo a few days ago, during my holidays in Minorca, a tiny island where I was born. It’s been almost five years since I left my home now. I stumbled upon this empty shell while I was scuba diving and I asked my girlfriend to hold it so I could take a photo of it. My intention was to capture a bit of the essence of my island: humanity and nature together in the middle of the sea. Poetic but simple at the same time.

Sea cave in Calle Antonio Ruiz Cedrés, Spain

ADD ME ON INSTAGRAM: daventuree It’s been a week since I have arrived here in Tenerife. The sunsets at the sea horizon, the spanish food and the incredible landscapes have already earned a special place in my heart.💛 My first weekend trip took me to this surreal place where hundreds of crabs were bustling around this so called “piscinas naturales”. Those natural pools emerged from arbitrary vulcanic streams.🌋

Cliff in Graciosa, Spain

Taken on a ferry ride from Lanzarote to Graciosa in the Canary Islands. The water was choppy, which only added to the adventure I felt like I was embarking on. The rocky islands rise from the sea, enduring the constant wind and waves that the Atlantic throws its way. Like all things, evolved to survive. And now, people have claimed these islands as their home. They too learned how to weather the storms.

Town in Olvera, Spain

At the tip of the “White towns route”, the city of Olvera is in the province of Cadiz. The White Towns of Andalusia, or Pueblos Blancos, are a series of towns and large villages in the northern part of the provinces of Cádiz and Málaga in southern Spain, mostly within the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. All of the villages are characterised by whitewashed walls and red or brown tiled roofs.

Beach in Lanzarote, Spain

After not taking photos for a while, I decided to start doing it again! Time and things aren’t sometimes good friends, but I’m always happy to take up and return things I were doing! This one is really special (like most of my photos) because summer is almost here! That means that beaches, sun and lit sunsets are bout to come, and of course I’ll be shooting them! I took this one wandering in one of my favorite beaches since childhood, with a couple of friends. For sure, memories came to my mind and I started capturing everything I saw, getting the best from my childhood to nowadays.

Landmark in Valencia, Spain

I took this picture on one of my recent travels to Valencia, Spain. I had recently bought a new camera and a new lens, I love this place in valencia, it has such beautiful architecture, and I liked the contrast of shapes and the fact that you could se some of restoration process being done, as a reflect of the roughness of all beautiful things. I usually have no expectations when taking my pictures, I just let it flow and try capture what calls my eyes, despite of it being a good or bad picture. I particularly like this type of mood and this is one of my very first edits.

Landmark in Minorca, Spain

This lighthouse is really difficult to reach. Because it’s located on a small unhabited islet in the far south-east coast of the Spanish island of Minorca. The lonely isolated locations of the majority of lighthouses in Minorca, along with their singular silhouettes, have become unmistakeable symbols of the island, which are much appreciated by its inhabitants and tourists.

Shore in Espigón de La Térmica, Spain

Forest in Cazorla, Spain

English (google translation) At dusk, after returning from a walk in the forest of Cazorla (Spain), a canine figure appeared on our way: he was motionless, calm, looking at us with sad and deep eyes. That look made us mute and we were paralyzed. After several seconds, I pulled out the camera and aimed, slowly, focusing and trying not to scare him. I did not check the photos, I could only think of that look. When I got home and connected the camera, it was still there, watching us. The look of the forest.

Wildlife in Gijón, Spain

In Spain there is a very serious situation with the murder and abandonment of Galgos. Thousands die every year. Sira was 3 years old when her owner cut her throat to remove the identification chip required in Spain. She was no longer fit to run because she was too old. Then he probably tried to kill her with a blow to the head. A greyhound shelter in our province, cured her and found a home for her. When Sonia and I saw her we fell in love with her. Today his more than fifty scars are still there but after a year and a half with his real family he is finally happy. A exception.

Ocean in Castillo de San Gabriel, Spain

This one was taken on the last day of 2017 and of course, the last sunset. I took this one walking around the city, with my brother. It was a really clear day and streets were free of people because roads and paths were closed. So, we waited until the sky was down and then we began shooting instead. I still remember that moment, and I know I always say the same, but I love it! For me, every sunset is different, and each one has it hidden beauty, isn’t it? From my part, that’s what it means. I sincerely can’t wait to keep rocking with the sunsets game!

Town in Hotel ILUNION Almirante, Spain

Arriving at Barcelona we went to our hotel of course. The hotel portier was telling us that our room would be a nice one… although we expected a plain, normal room booking such a room weeks before. Let’s say it this way: This picture shows what he meant. Especially in the morning while sunrise the balcony surved it’s purpose of presenting this breathtaking view over the rooftops of the city.

Ocean in Bombas Gens, Spain

Museum(scape) I is part of a project composed of semi-abstract photographies that describes the concept of museum not only as a mere container of art. The photographer shows some interstitial spaces of the exhibition room that are generally not visible: these spaces, defined by the artist as “museum landscapes”, are decontextualized and, as a sort of meta-exhibition, they become art by themselves. Taken at Bombas Gens (Valencia, Spain), lying on one of the floors of the museum.

Ecoregion in Consuegra, Spain

I was taking a smaller road to save some time getting to Toledo and found these windmills entirely by mistake. The best happy accident I've ever found. Love these Quixote Trail windmills on the hills outside Consuegra, Spain. An almost perfect blue sky gave a wonderful balance to the brown, yellow of the hillside scrub. One of my favorite days ever. Shot on slide film, Canon A2E.

Swimming pool in Balcón del Mediterráneo, Spain

Badlands in Degollada de La Yegua, Spain

The time 8:45, the place Gran Canaria, the year 2014. Almost 3 years ago, I had just bought my Nexus 5 (yeah that Google phone) and was on a trip with my girl to Gran Canaria. We were on our way to Roque Nublo and we did a quick stop to admire the view from Degollada de La Yegua. That was long before I even considered buying a proper camera. Or uploading on Instagram. Or being part of the Unsplash community. I have been re-editing and sharing my old photos recently. Most of them came from that phone. You know what they say… your best camera is always the one you have with you. R.I.P. Nexus 5

Archaeological site in Barcelona, Spain

Santa Eulalia’s Festival, Celebrating the bravery of a unique child The story of #Eulalia dates back to ancient days of #Christian persecution in #Barcelona, during the era of #Roman emperor Diocletian. Eulalia was a young Christian that lived in the countryside of Barcelona which is now called Sarrià. Eulalia was a strong #humanrights activist who refused to recant her faith in Christianity, speaking out against the #dictatorship of emperor Diocletian. For this reason, she was subjected to severe torture by the Roman army.

Headland in Playasonabia, Spain

Huge sandy beach and inlet between tall crags, backed by protected dunes and meadows of wildflowers. Eclectic mix of Basque families, textiles and nudists, adding to the wild and natural charm. Gentle sloping entry into the sea, so perfect for families and children. You can often spot Griffon Vultures, with their enormous wingspans, circling the hills above the beach.
