Waterway in Bridge of Sighs, Italy

🇺🇸The Bridge of Sighs was built in early 1600s to connect the new prison with the judiciary offices. According to popular tradition, the name by which it is universally known was given to the bridge by the English poet Lord Byron, who stayed in Venice for a few years finding refuge from the debts and scandals that had forced him to flee from the motherland. Through the windows of the bridge, the condemned would have seen the sky for the last time before being locked up in prison, from which they would probably never leave. The sighs at the fleeting sight of the panorama, in short, would have been their last longing for freedom now lost, a sort of resigned and extreme satisfaction mixed with regret. Over time, however, the bridge has taken on romantic connotations and meanings, probably due to the grace of the architecture and the certainly particular glimpse in which it is set. In this image, I used black and white, but I put color on the detail I took with the phone to highlight the gondolas, a romantic and fascinating element of Venice.

Temple in Fontana Pretoria, Italy

🇺🇸...throughout the 18th and part of the 19th century it was considered a kind of representation of the corrupt city municipality, which saw in those images the reflection and questionable characters of the time. For the nudity of the statues, but above all also for the disproportionate sums paid to buy it, the continuous rising costs and the continuous increase of the infinite ancillary costs, figures considered "shameful", the square was nicknamed "Piazza della Shame" "from Palermo... Lake in Epcot, United States

🇺🇸EPCOT is the acronym for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, it first mentioned in 1966 in a documentary published by Walt Disney to present a new conceptual balance between amusement park and community. The EPCOT project had to start from an ellipse made up of businesses and commercial areas, buildings, schools, and recreational complexes, and residential neighborhoods. For transport, many monorails on the surface and underground car traffic had been thought of, to allow pedestrians to walk safely. It opened its doors on 1 October 1982 as an amusement park. Spaceship Earth: a geodesic sphere designed to highlight the meaning of the relationship between continuous communication and the dynamic survival of humanity. National Historic Landmark, the Catholic Mission was completed in 1797. The church is the oldest mission in Arizona and the oldest European structure is still intact. The Spanish colonial-style building is considered by many to be the best example of such architecture in the United States. Designed by architect Ignacio Gaona, the low-fire clay and stone construction is unique in that the roof is built with brick vaults. Architecture in Lombard Street, United States

🇺🇸In San Francisco, trams first appeared in 1873, when 23 lines were created to cross the various city neighborhoods. Over time, the high costs of power lines led to the elimination of cable cars, but in 1984 the municipal administration decided to make a large investment to re-circulate these means of transport which are a real city institution and are highly appreciated by inhabitants and tourists. Take a picture of a tram, they are fascinating and remind us of the history of Frisco (as the city is called). They also add a touch of color to the streets. France

Architecture in Paris, France

🇺🇸Many centuries ago, when the first settlements arose along the banks of the Seine, the city did not have the name by which we know it today. Paris was initially called Lutetia Parisiorum (or Lutezia, in Italian) and was inhabited by the Celtic tribes of the Parisi. It seems that "Lutetia" comes from the Latin "lutum" (mud). This suggests that today's French capital, a symbol of elegance and romance, was initially a marshy area. Today it is a splendid city and when it snows it becomes enchanted, an irresistible place for every visitor.

Ecoregion in Baja California Peninsula, Mexico

🇺🇸Baja California Sur has become Mexico's leading state in terms of economic growth. Agriculture, commercial fishing, and mining have all become major contributors, but one industry is growing above all others. Before the 1970s tourism in the state was minimal, today it is the most important and fastest-growing industry. The best example of this trend is Cabo San Lucas, which has gone from a quiet fishing village to a thriving tourist town. But there are many magical places and there are times when you can explore in solitude and enjoy the natural beauty to the fullest.

Beach in The Arch of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

🇺🇸Thinking of Los Cabos, gems and precious metals come to mind. It is these that attracted the first explorers to the region. Rumors of gold in the Baja Peninsula circulated the world and the discovery of a large number of pearls in the Sea of Cortez attracted traders and adventurers to its shores. Even before the arrival of the Spaniards and the construction of a fort in Cabo San Lucas, pirates were sailing the Sea of Cortez in search of treasures. Their ships could hide among the rugged rock formations, to attack merchant ships by surprise and seize the loot. Today the treasure is represented by naturalistic beauties. 🇮🇹Pensando a Los Cabos vengono in mente gemme e metalli preziosi.

   Latvia

Architecture in Riga, Latvia

🇺🇸In Tallinn, Estonia in 1441, a large fir tree was erected in the Town Hall Square, Raekoja Plats, around which young bachelors, men, and women, danced together in search of a soul mate. In Riga, Latvia, in 1510, a fir tree was first decorated with colored paper and then burned as a wish for prosperity for the new year, and from this episode, in turn, linked to a local pagan tradition, it seems that originated the tradition of decorating a tree with lights and decorations on the occasion of the winter solstice. Perhaps the recognition goes to both countries, however, in Riga the Christmas market and the decorated tree are wonderful, even more so when it snows.

They translate this love into practice, taking care of the parks, and making them perfect and beautiful. Thus, when the snow arrives, it seems to be in front of enchanted landscapes, because the care of green areas and forests with the addition of the white mantle really make you fall in love. It becomes difficult to go home after seeing these shows. Diventa difficile tornare a casa dopo aver visto questi spettacoli.

Architecture in Belvedere Schlossgarten, Austria

The gate and the palace are on the 20 euro cent coin, but I found the central gate closed... At the Belvedere in Vienna, you can see the exterior of the building in Baroque style and the manicured gardens. Inside the building, there is a museum that houses the famous Klimt's Kiss. Outside the museum, you cross the gardens which offer a beautiful view of Vienna and splendid buildings and statues scattered along the various paths.

Temple in St. Charles's Church, Austria

🇺🇸Church of San Carlo Borromeo, Vienna. This sumptuous baroque style church located in the Belvedere district is dedicated to San Carlo Borromeo, patron saint of plague patients. Designed and built by Johann Bernard Fisher von Erlach, this church has a versatile facade crowded with various architectural elements, which makes the whole enigmatic but at the same time fascinating: the two columns that do not go unnoticed remind the Trajan column of Rome as well as the great dome. Thanks to my mobile I can see better all details on the column.

Natural landscape in Trakai Island Castle, Lithuania

🇺🇸The beautiful Trakai Castle is the main attraction of the town. Located on an islet in the middle of Lake Galvé, Trakai Castle was first built in the 14th century by the Grand Duke of Lithuania and has been damaged and rebuilt several times since. Looking back at this photograph, I think I had the opportunity to reach the landscape of a fairy tale. But it was real and beautiful.

Landmark in Old Town Square, Czechia

🇺🇸The Old Town Square of Prague was the largest city square in Europe in the Middle Ages and is still one of the largest in the world today. The Old Town, Staré Mesto, is the historical heart of Prague. Dominating this square are undoubtedly the Gothic spires of the church of St. Mary of Tyn, also known as the "most mysterious church in Prague", consisting of a majestic building that can only be admired from a considerable distance. The Christmas period gives the square an even more suggestive atmosphere.

Lake in Nyhavn, Denmark

🇺🇸The port of Copenhagen used to be a seedy area of the city, but today it is a trendy neighborhood. Its transformation began in the 1960s. Nyhavn boasts a large concentration of characteristic pastel-colored Nordic houses overlooking the waterway. There are many tourists who visit the place and obviously, there are many photos on the web. This is in addition to the many already present on Instagram, but it is my tribute to a special city that I have had to visit a few times over the years and that has always given me wonderful experiences. Architecture in Brussels, Belgium

🇺🇸Brussels is known for being one of the capitals for parks and green spaces for the population. It boasts second place per m² of greenery per capita (27.7 m²). But there are many fascinating aspects to the city, which manages to combine splendid old buildings with ultra-modern buildings, many of which are occupied by the institutions of the European Union. I find it very suggestive in winter, even if it doesn't need snow to become beautiful, Brussels with the white coat is spectacular.

Landscape in St. Paul's Cathedral, United Kingdom

🇺🇸The London Underground is the oldest underground network in the world and the largest in Europe. It operates every day of the year except December 25, and on Fridays and Saturdays it works, on some lines, 24 hours a day. The underground was inaugurated on January 10, 1863 and has 382 stations located throughout the Greater London area. It is called by its users "The Tube" due to the shape of its circular section tunnels. The ticket is expensive, but it helps to quickly reach the various city areas. To be used especially when it rains, sometimes hehehe happens as you can see from my photo.

   Vatican City

Architecture in Saint Peter's Square, Vatican City

🇺🇸The Dome of St. Peter can be seen from several points of the city, but I recommend that you reach the obelisk in the center of the square in front and stand behind it. Looking at the facade, you will notice that the three elements of the Cupola, the golden sphere on the top, and the two milestones of the arches, form a triangle. Depending on the observation point, this geometric image should change, but it doesn't happen. Slanted-sided windows deceive observers. That inclination makes you feel the dome moving with you. You will have the illusion that it "moves" to the right or left between the heads of the statues, following your gaze. However, the Dome is also beautiful seen in this way. The ice cream? I tasted it for you, to advise you to enjoy one when visiting the city. Even in winter. Thanks to this cone I had the energy to reach the river and take pictures. You believe it, right? Ci credi, vero?
